Job summary

Shock Media, with over 25 years in managed hosting, seeks a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to advance our Kubernetes services and infrastructure. You will shape technical direction, work with the latest tools, and own complex challenges in a dynamic team.

We offer a salary of €65,000–€100,000 annually, 26 vacation days, travel or transport options, a strong pension, and a personal training budget. Partial work-from-home is possible, with a supportive, expert team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Dutch (spoken and written).
• Extensive experience with Linux and optimizing systems for websites/web apps.
• Able to independently analyze and solve complex technical challenges.
• Willingness to share knowledge and take responsibility for progress forward.

Responsibilities

• Work on making Kubernetes services more reliable, observable, and deployable.
• Launch new applications on the Managed Application Platform according to requirements.
• Maintain and improve tooling while minimizing technical debt.
• Shape the technical direction of the team and services.
• Identify and address complex technical challenges and incidents.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and help resolve issues.

As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will ensure that our Kubernetes services are continuously further developed. You will work on complex technical challenges, help determine the technical direction we take, and have a great deal of freedom and responsibility to make a technical difference. In doing so, you will help build the infrastructure of the future and work with the latest technologies every day.

What will you do?

As part of a team of Kubernetes specialists, you will be an important addition. You will work on making our services work even better, making them visible and launching them. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working with technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, Prometheus & ArgoCD;
• Researching, assessing and setting up new tooling and technologies to keep up with the fast-moving Kubernetes landscape;
• Launching new applications on our Managed Application Platform based on the customer’s requirements and technical specifications;
• Maintaining and further developing existing tooling and keeping technical debt to a minimum;
• Playing an important role in the technical direction of the team and the development and further development of our services;
• Independently taking on and solving complex technical challenges and incidents;
• Identifying and initiating technical improvements;
• Sharing knowledge with colleagues and helping them with complex technical challenges;

What do we ask?

• 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes;
• You have a professional level of proficiency in the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
• Extensive experience with Linux and optimizing systems configured for websites, webshops and/or web applications;
• You are able to independently analyze and solve complex technical challenges;
• You have a broad technical interest and actively follow developments within the Kubernetes landscape;
• You enjoy sharing knowledge and helping colleagues further;
• Actively thinking along with us and taking responsibility to jointly drive progress forward.

What do we offer?

• A gross annual salary of €65,000 to €100,000, depending on your knowledge and experience;
