Job summary

Philips is seeking a Senior IP Counsel in Eindhoven to help manage and monetize IP assets in audio/video technologies, drafting and prosecuting patents, evaluating disclosures, and guiding licensing strategies.

The role involves collaboration with global IP&S colleagues, managing portfolios, and supporting litigation and third-party analyses, with emphasis on English communication and a multinational environment.

Office-based role with hybrid working and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering or physics with expertise in audio/video technologies.
• European Patent Attorney (EQE) achievement or qualification.
• At least 5 years of IP drafting, prosecution, portfolio management and counseling experience.
• Experience defending IP assertions, contributing to IP litigations and/or IP licensing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global IP&S colleagues to evaluate inventions for protection and value.
• Prepare, file, and prosecute high-quality patent applications.
• Maintain an active docket of patent applications.
• Support infringement and validity analysis and third-party patent reviews.
