Job summary

Polarsteps, an Amsterdam-based travel app company, is seeking an experienced iOS engineer to join our team. You’ll work within a cross-functional product pillar to ship features for a high-scale app used by millions of travelers.

You’ll collaborate with PMs, designers and engineers, focusing on maintainable code, performance and user experience. Our hybrid setup in Amsterdam includes generous benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of hands-on iOS development experience.
• Strong experience in agile team environments.
• Proficient in Swift with legacy Objective-C familiarity.
• Extensive experience with large apps on the App Store.
• Deep knowledge of UIKit, SwiftUI and building complex UIs.
• Experience with multithreading (GCD, Combine, Swift Concurrency).
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Github Actions).
• Familiarity with performance profiling (Xcode Instruments).
• Ability to improve maintainability, resiliency and extensibility of apps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead iOS Engineers and cross-functional teammates on feature development.
• Implement new features, improve existing ones and keep day-to-day app operations healthy.
• Embed in a Product Pillar team with PMs, designers and engineers to guide user journeys.
• Proactively address technical debt and optimize performance and architecture.
