Job summary

Stream is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help rebuild the platform underneath Stream, moving from AWS to GCP, expanding Kubernetes, and migrating 35–40 Postgres shards to self-hosted. You will own parts of that work and contribute code daily.

This is a small, senior team with high autonomy. You will write production Go and Python, design clusters, and drive cost efficiency across real-time workloads while supporting billions of API requests every month.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps or SRE engineering.
• Production coding experience in Go or Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes at scale and migration work from AWS to GCP.
• Experience in cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
• Self-hosted PostgreSQL at scale is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate infrastructure for real-time systems with millions of connections and billions of API requests.
• Drive Kubernetes end-to-end design, migrations and cluster architecture.
• Re-architect workloads for AWS to GCP migrations focusing on cost and performance.
• Own cloud cost and efficiency work and quantify savings.
• Write production Go and Python for internal services and tooling.
• Lead post-migration tuning and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with backend, video and moderation teams on system design and reliability.
