Job summary

STAR Specialists in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer in the petrochemical sector to lead design, development and improvement of a plant, delivering efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

You will work with a team of experts, coordinate with vendors and third parties, ensure safety and compliance, manage scope and interfaces, and may lead other engineers or act as Discipline Lead for a defined scope.

Qualifications

• Engineer Diploma in relevant discipline.
• 10–15 years in Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with engineering design and calculation tools.
• Experience with concept development and detailed design.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering and Functional Safety (SIL & LOPA).
• Site engineering experience and planning.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer solutions meeting high safety, reliability and sustainability standards.
• Select methods and procedures per codes and standards within budget.
• Plan and deliver activities and interfaces on time and within budget.
• Ensure scope of work meets contractual and internal requirements.
• Apply lessons learned and assess change impact across project boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties.
• May act as Responsible Engineer for functional safety analyses by third-parties.
• May lead other engineers or act as Discipline Lead for a defined scope.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Engineer's purpose is to design and engineer solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.
• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as a Responsible Engineer with technical responsibility for functional safety related analysis & studies conducted by third-parties.
• You may be assigned to lead other engineers on defined scope of work.
• You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope or work.
