Job summary

M. Restart is seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to support a client in the floating production industry. The role focuses on safety-focused design, complying with international codes and industry standards.

You will lead or contribute to functional safety analyses (SIL/LOPA), coordinate with vendors and EPC teams, and guide other engineers. Offshore experience and EPC project background are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
• Experience in functional safety related analysis & studies required.
• EPC projects experience; offshore preferred; background I&E/ICSS.

Responsibilities

• Select methods and procedures to meet specifications with compliance to codes and standards.
• Plan and deliver activities within time and budget and manage interfaces.
• Ensure scope of work meets contractual and SBM requirements.
• Apply lessons learnt and manage change across project boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties.
• May act as Responsible Engineer for functional safety analyses conducted by third parties.
• May lead other engineers or act as Discipline Lead.

For one of our clients in the floating production industry, we are looking for a Senior Functional Safety Engineer.

Our client is a leader in Floating Production Storage & Offloading systems, exploring new frontiers like floating wind and carbon-cutting tech with expert capabilities and a unique, full-lifecycle value proposition.

Purpose

• The Senior Engineer's purpose is to design and engineer solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as a Responsible Engineer with technical responsibility for functional safety related analysis & studies conducted by third-parties.
• You may be assigned to lead other engineers on defined scope of work.
• You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope or work.

Education

Engineer Diploma in relevant discipline
