Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer for a 12-month renewable position based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The role focuses on designing safe, reliable systems and managing interfaces across vendors and third parties.

Responsibilities include delivering safety analyses, maintaining compliance with international standards, and leading engineering teams on defined scopes. A diploma in engineering is required, with sponsorship provided for the duration of the contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) preferred.
• FPSO/offshore project exposure required.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate methods and procedures to deliver engineering work within the scope of the specifications.
• Optimise design solutions in line with international codes, company standards, and industry regulations.
• Plan and complete activities and deliverables within agreed time frames and budgets.
• Ensure system interfaces are effectively managed across the assigned scope of work.
• Deliver assigned work in accordance with contractual requirements and internal engineering requirements.
• Apply relevant lessons learned and assess change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and third parties to support successful project execution.
• Provide technical responsibility for functional safety related analysis and studies carried out by third parties, where assigned.
• Lead other engineers on a defined scope of work, where required.
• Act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work, where assigned.

The role supports project delivery through functional safety related analysis, system interface management, and compliance with international codes, company standards, and industry regulations. This position offers the chance to contribute to strategic project objectives while working across vendors, subcontractors, and third-party studies.

Required Education & Certifications

• Engineer Diploma in a relevant discipline (Required)

• Capability to manage design optimisation, technical delivery, and system interfaces.

• Experience coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and third parties in a project delivery environment.
