Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Senior Enterprise Application Engineer for the Central Tech Business Unit in Amsterdam. The role focuses on enhancing enterprise applications, end-to-end ownership, and delivering value within the Productivity & Collaboration track of IT Services.

The successful candidate will lead AI-driven initiatives, collaborate with product managers, and ensure security and compliance across systems while supporting colleagues with mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Background in software development with proficiency in Java, SQL or Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or 3–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with AI technologies in a professional context, including LLM-powered tools and AI governance basics.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, with 2+ years managing SaaS productivity apps like Google Workspace, Slack, or Jira.

Responsibilities

• Advise on business challenges and use AI to automate workflows and support data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to drive AI initiatives within Enterprise Applications.
• Identify and apply AI and automation opportunities to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge on best practices and tooling.
• Design and defend scalable enterprise solutions, considering security, compliance, and data retention.
• Respond to production incidents, drive postmortems, and maintain system reliability.
