Job summary

S&T is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Delft team. You will own the embedded software lifecycle from concept to validation, collaborating with Systems Architects, FPGA Engineers, and Electronics Designers to deliver high-performance onboard processing platforms for space missions.

You will drive Linux-based edge computing, work on machine learning accelerators, and contribute to robust satellite communication protocols while mentoring junior engineers in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of Embedded Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience in space applications or other safety-critical environments.
• Knowledge of GPU/AI acceleration technologies (NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, VITIS-AI).
• Experience with Linux kernel development, device drivers, and embedded Linux optimization.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded systems engineering by establishing efficient processes and mentoring engineers.
• Translate system requirements into robust embedded software and hardware designs.
• Develop and maintain Linux-based operating systems for onboard platforms using Yocto/Buildroot.
• Develop reliable software for failure detection, recovery, and mission continuity.
• Develop and integrate satellite communication protocols and interfaces.
• Optimize drivers for ML and AI accelerators for efficient on-board execution.
