Job summary

SGL System in Waddinxveen, Netherlands, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own a critical portion of our embedded software stack. You will lead a small team, develop and optimize software on Embedded Linux with Yocto, and guide architecture from development to release.

Expect close collaboration with hardware and systems teams, and opportunities to apply AI to improve quality and efficiency. You will work on high-performance production platforms, mentoring engineers, and driving

Qualifications

8+ years of relevant software development experience.
BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Systems & Control, Robotics, or equivalent.
Strong experience with Embedded Linux, Yocto, and C/C++ (C++17 or newer) in production environments.
Experience using AI tools in software development, and familiarity with AI/ML integration in embedded systems.

Responsibilities

Lead a small team of engineers, balancing capacity planning and sprint goals.
Develop and maintain robust embedded software using C/C++ and Embedded Linux, leveraging Yocto.
Drive and support the software lifecycle from system architecture to release readiness.
Translate functional requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps.
Actively leverage AI tools to improve code quality, testing, debugging, and development efficiency.
Improve system reliability through data-driven debugging and continuous improvement.
