Senior Director, Process Engineering – Animal Health

Job summary

MSD Netherlands in Boxmeer seeks an Associate Director Process Engineering to lead complex process systems across capital projects. You will guide a multidisciplinary team through the entire project lifecycle, ensuring time, budget, and safety standards are met within a matrix organization.

You will coordinate with end-users, design firms and external partners, and mentor engineers while maintaining high quality and compliance across Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Bio)Pharmaceutical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Food Technology is required.
• 10+ years of design-engineering experience in pharma/biotech/food or high-tech capital projects.
• Familiarity with GMP guidelines (EU/EudraLex V4, Annex 1), EHEDG and ISPE.
• Strong grasp of pharma/food facility construction and equipment integration.
• Excellent English; knowledge of Dutch is required.
• Willingness to travel to vendor sites (~25%).

Responsibilities

• Lead process deliverables across large or multiple small projects from concept to handover.
• Manage scope, schedule and cost.
• Coach teams and influence outcomes.
• Serve as SME for processes and equipment.
• Coordinate communications with stakeholders to define and execute projects.
• Develop relationships with design and construction partners across Europe.
• Review designs to ensure engineering and safety standards are met.
• Support standardization and fit-for-purpose principles.
• Be the expert resource for complex project engineering issues.
• Build networks with ISPE and other international organisations.
• Promote SHE core principles within the team.
