Job summary

Avantor Sciences is seeking a proactive Senior Design Engineer to join the Single-Use Design Team in a dynamic biopharma environment. You will design and develop single-use assemblies, translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions, and collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities include creating 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, evaluating designs for manufacturability, maintaining BOMs/MOMs in the ERP system, and supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of design engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Proficient 2D/3D design using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Customer-facing mindset with stakeholder interaction.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop approval drawings and prototypes for single-use assemblies.
• Create and modify 2D/3D drawings using CAD software.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability and compliance with customer requirements.
• Select components and validate designs through testing and analysis.
• Perform feasibility studies, cost estimations, and pricing calculations.
• Maintain BOMs and MOMs within the ERP system.
• Support manufacturing and quality teams with engineering expertise.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver solutions.
• Participate in global engineering harmonization and process improvements.
• Assist during customer visits and occasional travel with commercial team.
