Job summary

ViCentra is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead design and development of medical devices from concept through production. You will own multiple projects, set technical direction, and ensure devices meet safety and regulatory standards.

With 7+ years in design for regulated environments and strong SolidWorks/technical writing skills, you will mentor colleagues and collaborate across management and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 7+ years designing medical devices or products in a regulated environment.
• Deep, hands‑on knowledge of designing and manufacturing small parts.
• Strong SolidWorks skills and clear technical writing.
• Self‑starter who can juggle multiple projects in a fast, timeline‑driven environment.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is a strong plus.
• Injection moulding design and processing experience; startup/scale‑up experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple design projects from concept to production.
• Prototype, test, and refine across the full product development life cycle.
• Invent and optimise manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Set requirements and specifications and build testing/derisking plans.
• Run GMP process validations and complete quality system documentation.
• Guide, mentor, and inspire colleagues across the design team.
• Collaborate with management, peers, and vendors; communicate clearly.
