Job summary

Enemix, a Dutch solar energy specialist, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own technical design across rooftop, service and solar park projects. You will drive concepts through execution, managing string calculations, routing, and lifting plans while coordinating with the sales engineering function.

Responsibilities

• Produce string calculations, string plans, material lists, cable routing and lifting plans.
• Own solar park projects from calculation phase through execution, coordinating with sales engineering.
• Support and eventually lead a small engineering team as the business scales.
• Contribute to service and rebuild projects as needed.
• Bring genuine technical judgement and ideas to project design.

Overview

This business is a well-established Dutch solar energy specialist, active since 2012, delivering solar installations across rooftop, ground-mount, carport, greenhouse and facade applications.

They deliver the large majority of their projects directly rather than subcontracting, run their own in-house product development function, and work with a number of recognisable retail and institutional partners. Alongside their established solar park pipeline, they are now moving into utility-scale battery storage, having recently begun certification for larger BESS projects.

They are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to take ownership of technical design across their project, service and solar park work, with genuine scope to grow into a leadership role as the team and pipeline expand.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design across rooftop solar, service and solar park projects, from concept through to execution
• Produce string calculations, string plans, material lists, cable routing, ballast plans and lifting plans, and follow projects through after handover
• Take ownership of solar park projects from the calculation phase through to execution, working closely with the sales engineering function
• Support and, over time, help lead a small engineering team as the business scales
• Get involved in service and rebuild projects where needed
• Bring genuine technical judgement and ideas to project design, rather than just running calculations

What we're looking for

• Fluency in Dutch
• Around 2-10 years' experience in solar or renewable energy design engineering (flexible for the right level of quality)
• Strong CAD skills - AutoCAD or BricsCAD; VirtoCAD experience is a plus
• A background in electrical, civil or general engineering
• Solar experience is essential
• Comfortable taking full ownership of a project and working independently, at pace
• Dutch language is an advantage but not essential
