Job summary

Booking.com in Amsterdam seeks a Senior Data Engineer I for the Financial Systems group to build and scale the data foundations behind regulated payments and e-money services. You will shape the technical strategy, ensure resilience, and enable data-driven decision making across engineering, finance and compliance.

You will mentor teammates, own end-to-end data solutions, and collaborate with product stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data products that power BHFS globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role with a track record of delivering data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale reliable data pipelines, models, and integrations for financial data across critical systems
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex data solutions from strategy to deployment and monitoring
• Ensure data solutions meet regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements with governance and security controls
• Drive continuous improvement in data quality with validation, monitoring, and automated failure detection
• Mentor and coach less experienced team members, promoting clean code and test-driven development
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, and engineering to deliver high-value data products
