Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Data Engineer II for its Financial Systems team to architect and operate the data platform behind regulated payments and e-money services. You will build pipelines, data models and integrations across SAP HANA, SAP Datasphere, AWS and Snowflake, enabling reliable financial reporting and stronger operational visibility.

In this role you’ll own data quality, collaborate with finance and product stakeholders, implement data governance, and contribute to CI/CD and security

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer or similar data-focused role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
• Strong SQL skills and Python for data processing.
• Hands-on experience building production data pipelines in cloud/hybrid environments.
• Experience with data modeling (dimensional/Data Vault) and analytics stakeholders.
• Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Git, CI/CD, and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain scalable data pipelines and models.
• Own data quality, validation, monitoring and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with finance, product and engineering stakeholders.
• Implement data governance and security controls in a regulated environment.
• Support data extraction across multiple source systems and warehouses.
