Valcon in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior (Data) Cloud Engineer who combines strong technical skills with the drive to grow together with the team.

You will design and provision smart data infrastructure, supervise projects from start to finish, and mentor junior colleagues while applying IaC, CI/CD and security best practices. The role includes flexible work, a competitive salary and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completed technical college or university education.
• At least 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, preferably with data infrastructure.
• Experience with programming languages (Terraform, Bash, Python).
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps or Github Actions).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of data infrastructure (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, BigQuery or Snowflake).
• Familiarity with emerging technologies (open source or closed).
• Experience in enterprise environments and agile teams.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication.

Valcon places data at the center of client engagements and focuses on AI and data-driven business transformation.

What will you do?

In this role, you will work on designing and provisioning smart data infrastructure. You will be given the space to supervise projects from start to finish, from translating needs to delivering the solution.

• Build together: You develop infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to deploy the data infrastructure for the Data and Tech teams. You do this by following industry best practices and principles like zero-trust, passwordless, zero-touch prod, private networking and using the well architecture framework.

• Innovate and improve: You provide scalable solutions for large amounts of data. With your experience, you apply DevOps and CI/CD principles to make work easier and better. In addition, you take the lead in exploring new tools and techniques.

• Mentorship: You like to share your knowledge. You guide junior colleagues in their development and contribute to a culture in which we learn from each other.

Experience

• A completed technical college or university education.

• At least 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, preferably with data infrastructure.

• Experience with programming languages (such as Terraform, Bash, Python).

• Experience with CI/CD platforms (such as Azure DevOps or Github Actions).

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).

• Knowledge of data infrastructure (e.g. Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, BigQuery or Snowflake).

• You like exploring new and upcoming technologies (closed or open source).

• You are familiar with working in enterprise environments and like working in agile teams.

• You communicate effectively in both Dutch and English.

• Please note: You are currently living in the Netherlands and have a valid work permit.
