Job summary

Valcon A/S is seeking a Principal Analytics Engineer to set the technical direction across clients and teams. You will design scalable analytics data models and pipelines, ensuring delivery excellence while applying best practices in dimensional modeling, transformations, and data products.

You will mentor senior specialists, engage with C-level stakeholders, and shape Valcon's analytics strategy, enabling clients to realize maximum value from data assets.

Qualifications

• Completed technical bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• At least 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing.
• Experience leading projects and engaging with director/C-level stakeholders.
• Deep expertise in modern analytics platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric) and analytics tools (dbt, SQL, Python).
• Hands-on experience building enterprise data warehouses and implementing analytics best practices (dimensional modeling, data products).
• Experience leading complex analytics projects with diverse stakeholders.

By connecting business requirements with technical implementation,you’llcreate maximum value for clients while following industry best practices: dimensional modeling, efficient transformation patterns, and analytics best practices (medallion architecture,dbtstandards, performance optimization).

Innovation & Standardization:You’llstay ahead of market developments in analytics tools and methodologies, translating them intonew approachesand standards forValcon.You’llshape how we build analytics solutions and ensure wemaintainour technical leadership in the analytics space.

Experience

• A completed technical bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• At least 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing.
• You have experience in leading projects and talking to director/C-level stakeholders.
• You have deep expertise in modern analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric) and analytics tools (dbt, SQL, Python).
• You have hands‑on experience building enterprise data warehouses and implementing analytics best practices (dimensional modeling, data products).
• You have experience leading complex analytics projects and know how to manage diverse stakeholders (business, data, technical).
• You have hands‑on experience establishing analytics CI/CD pipelines and data quality frameworks from the ground up in enterprise environments.
• You are familiar with working in enterprise environments and like working in agile teams.
• You have strong communication skills: you can persuasively advise on data architecture, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and provide substantive support.
• You communicate effectively in both Dutch and English.
• Please note: You already reside in the Netherlands and hold a valid work permit.
