Valcon is seeking a (Senior) Consultant to join our Technology Advisory team in the Netherlands. You will work on complex IT transformations, assessing client IT landscapes, designing future-state architectures, and defining target operating models to enable agile, efficient changes.

You will also support vendor selections, develop business cases, and contribute to IT strategy implementations. The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and staying current with AI, data, and digital trends.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in IT, computer science, engineering or related STEM field.
• At least two years of IT/digital transformation experience for Senior Consultant.
• Foundational understanding of IT concepts: development lifecycle, cloud service models, data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to convey technical information.

We work closely with CIOs, CTOs, and IT managers, providing strategic and tactical guidance to optimize their technology landscape. Our projects include various areas, for instance IT Strategy & Portfolio, IT Target Operating Model, Enterprise Architecture, Application Rationalization, Buy vs Built assessments or Vendor and Partner Selections. What will you do?

As a (Senior) Consultant within Technology Advisory, you’ll work on complex IT transformations and digital advancements. Together with experienced colleagues, you assess IT landscapes, design future-state architectures, define target operating models, and create actionable transformation roadmaps. You’ll also support vendor selection processes, develop business cases, and contribute to implementing IT strategies that drive agility, efficiency, and long-term success.

Among your tasks will be the following:

• Work as part of a team, sharing insights, and contributing to the overall success of the projects.
• Collect and analyse relevant data about the client’s IT infrastructure, processes, and challenges.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT advisory.
• Contribute to the development of IT and data strategies, recommendations, and solutions based on the client’s requirements and industry best practices.
• Take part in training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in IT advisory and related areas.

Experience

• Completed Master’s degree, preferably in IT, computer science, engineering or a related STEM field
• Basic understanding of business concepts and how IT aligns with business objectives;
• For Senior Consultant: At least two years of relevant working experience in IT and/or data (industry or consulting), with relevant experience in one of the following areas: IT & digital strategy, IT target operation model, enterprise architecture and/or IT & digital transformation;
• Foundational understanding of information technology concepts, including application development & lifecycle, integrations, cloud service models and data;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights;
• Real team-player;
• Fluent in Dutch and English;
• Located in the Netherlands.
