Job summary

Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Amsterdam seeks a Senior Consultant / Project Manager to lead project modules, coach teams, and manage client presentations. You will collaborate with energy specialists to shape high-impact projects across the energy value chain, from development to strategy and regulation.

The role emphasizes an entrepreneurial, rigorous approach with English language excellence. You will report to senior management and gain broad exposure to cross-organizational projects,

Qualifications

• You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
• You have between four and seven years of experience in strategy and/or management consulting or in strategic and/or operational roles at a large company or in the public sector. Having prior involvement in energy is a requirement.
• You have technical affinity and commercial insight.
• You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
• You work with precision.
• You are open-minded.
• You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
• You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Excel), visualizing presentations (PowerPoint) and storytelling.
• You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants).
• Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
• Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.
• Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
• Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
• Participate in office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

You will collaborate closely with partners and (senior) colleagues specializing in energy and contribute to high-impact projects that help shape the future energy landscape. Covering the full energy value chain from renewable project development (offshore wind, hydrogen, solar, biogas) to guidance on energy retail strategies, regulatory frameworks, and grid development, we drive solutions at every stage.
