Job summary

Roland Berger Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead modules within larger projects and to manage smaller engagements, typically guiding three to five consultants. You will coach team members, work with industry experts, and contribute to knowledge development from client work.

You will engage in office-wide studies and help advance Roland Berger’s thinking in life sciences, biopharma, and high-tech sectors, while delivering tailor-made solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• Academic university education completed (WO).
• 4–7 years experience in strategy/management consulting or related roles.
• Experience in strategic/project-based work is required.
• Mobilizing funds experience is advantageous.
• Technical background and knowledge is advantageous.
• Analytical thinking and ability to structure arguments clearly.
• Experience managing others and delegating to junior team members.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and storytelling.

What you will be doing

You will mainly work on a variety of projects at the intersection of innovation and public-private partnerships. You will gain exposure to sectors such as life sciences, biopharma, and high-tech, and collaborate with clients ranging from private companies to universities and research institutions.

Together with partners and (senior) colleagues, you will help drive innovation management, growth strategies and business model development. As aSenior Consultantat Roland Berger you will:

• Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants).
• Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
• Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
• Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
• Participate in office‑wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Our requirements

• You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
• You have between four and seven years of experience in strategy and/or management consulting or in strategic and/or operational roles within the life sciences, biopharma, high tech, public‑private industry or working on innovation ecosystems.
• Prior experience in strategic and project‑based work is required.
• Having prior involvement with mobilizing funds is highly advantageous.
• Having a technical (academic) background and knowledge is highly advantageous.
• You have technical affinity and commercial insight.
• You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
• You work with precision.
• You are open‑minded.
• You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
• You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Excel), visualizing presentations (PowerPoint) and storytelling.
• You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of the English language.
