Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Cloud) based in the Netherlands to modernize data infrastructure and build scalable cloud data products in a globally distributed environment.

You will migrate workloads from MS SQL Server to a modern cloud data platform, design production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Data Engineering with advanced SQL and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with GCP data technologies (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, GCS).
• Proven experience designing production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and analytical data models.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud data services, orchestration, and storage.
• Strong Python or another language, applied to data engineering and automation.
• Understanding of IAM, networking, monitoring, CI/CD, and infra config.
• Experience with legacy data warehouses and modernization projects.
• Ability to investigate data issues, diagnose root causes, and ensure data quality.
• Strong problem-solving with an engineering mindset for complex challenges.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in distributed international environments.
• Fluent Russian communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Migrate data products, workloads from MS SQL Server to a modern cloud data platform.
• Analyze legacy SQL and ETL workflows, redesign for target cloud architecture.
• Build and optimize scalable batch data pipelines and analytical models.
• Deploy, configure, and operate managed cloud data services (warehouses, orchestration, compute).
• Validate migrated data, investigate discrepancies, ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements and logic.
• Improve data platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency; monitor systems.
• Develop AI-assisted automation for data workflows and tooling.
• Apply automation and infra engineering to scale data processes.
• Identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement across pipelines and infra.
