Job summary

Nearfield Instruments is seeking a Senior Business Controller to lead financial planning, analysis and governance in our Rotterdam office. You will partner with the CFO and leadership to drive performance and scalable processes in a fast-growing high-tech environment.

Your role includes budgeting, forecasting, KPI monitoring, and advising on pricing and investments to support growth while ensuring NL GAAP and IFRS compliance.

Qualifications

• Completed HBO/University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar.
• 7+ years of experience in business control or financial management in tech or international settings.
• Strong knowledge of NL GAAP and IFRS.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling experience; ERP systems familiarity.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, hands-on mindset with strategic thinking; comfortable in a fast-paced scale-up.
• Full-time availability at our Rotterdam office.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
• Provide in-depth financial analysis and actionable insights for decisions.
• Act as sparring partner for senior leadership on business cases, investments and profitability.
• Monitor and improve KPIs, margins and cost structures across departments.
• Drive financial process optimization and scalability best practices.
• Manage risk assessments and ensure NL GAAP/IFRS compliance.
• Support cross-functional projects including pricing strategies and operational efficiency.
• Prepare clear, data-driven reports for management and stakeholders.
