Job summary

Plat4mation is seeking a Senior Business Controller to build and lead a global business control function from the ground up, reporting to the CFO.

You will implement rolling forecasts, multi-cycle budgeting, KPI frameworks, and real-time performance insights. This hands-on role partners with regional leaders in a PE-backed, international setting, based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or similar.
• 7–10 years in business control / FP&A.
• Experience in international/PE-backed environment is a plus.
• Proven ability to operate at senior stakeholder level.
• Experience with FP&A tools is required.
• Affinity with AI and data-driven ways of working is essential.
• Experience with Power BI, NetSuite and/or ServiceNow is a plus.

Responsibilities

Are you a seasoned Senior Business Controller who thrives in a fast-paced and international environment and is ready to build and lead a global business control function?

The Senior Business Controller reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for setting up and driving global business control, performance management and forecasting capabilities.

This is a hands-on role with high exposure to senior leadership and a clear trajectory towards broader finance leadership over time.

What will you do?

• Build and lead the global business control function (starting without an established team)
• Develop and implement rolling forecasting capabilities, a multi-cycle budgeting process, and a KPI framework based on industry benchmarks
• Deliver real-time insights into business performance and underlying value drivers
• Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with clear, actionable output
• Drive margin analytics across projects, clients and regions
• Monitor and optimize utilization, pricing and resource productivity
• Own board- and investor-level reporting
• Act as a business partner to regional MDs and practice leads
• Improve and integrate tooling (FP&A systems, BI, data platforms)
• Actively leverage AI and data to modernize business control
• Support post-M&A integration from a performance management perspective

We ask:

• Master’s degree (Finance, Economics or similar)
• ~7–10 years of experience in business control / FP&A (strong candidates with slightly less experience will be considered)
• Preferably experience in consultancy, IT services or a comparable business model
• Experience in an international and/or PE-backed environment is a plus
• Proven ability to operate at senior stakeholder level
• Strong analytical skills combined with a hands-on mindset
• Experience with FP&A tools is required
• Affinity with AI and data-driven ways of working is essential
• Experience with Power BI, NetSuite and/or ServiceNow is a plus
• Fluent in English (Dutch is preferred but not required)
• A builder: able to set up structure, processes and team from the ground up
• Senior enough to challenge the business, pragmatic enough to execute
• Strong ownership and pace: not waiting, but doing
• Commercially aware and able to translate data into decisions
• Clear affinity for technology and AI in a finance context

• Competitive salary range of €6,700 - €9,000 gross per month, depending on experience and seniority, plus a bonus based on company performance
