Job summary

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. is seeking a QA Engineer to join the Daily Banking IT team in the Netherlands. You will define and drive the test strategy for backend services and APIs, design and maintain API test frameworks, and ensure quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.

You will mentor junior QA engineers and collaborate with DevOps teams to uphold data integrity and robust service behavior. The role requires 5+ years of QA experience with at least 3 years in API test automation, plus hands-on experience

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA experience, including 3+ years of API test automation.
• Strong experience with automation tools such as Rest Assured and Karate.
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or NeoLoad.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments & DevOps ways of working.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Hands-on experience with test case management tools (Azure Test Plans).
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive test strategy for backend services and APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain API and integration test frameworks.
• Validate service-to-service integrations and data flows.
• Ensure data integrity, contract validation, and error handling.
• Ensure quality gates are met in CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform manual exploratory testing when required.
• Identify, report, and track defects with root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams.
• Advocate shift-left testing and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to QA capability building.
