Job summary

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. is looking for a QA Engineer to join our Daily Banking IT team. You will define and drive test strategy for backend services and APIs, and design powerful API/integration test frameworks to ensure data integrity and reliable services.

In this role you will collaborate with DevOps, developers, and product owners, advocating shift-left quality practices. A hybrid work model and opportunities to mentor junior QA engineers are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA experience, including 3+ years hands-on API test automation.
• Strong experience with automation tools such as Rest Assured and Karate.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter and NeoLoad.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments & DevOps ways of working.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Hands-on experience with test case management tools (e.g., Azure Test Plans).
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive test strategy for backend services and APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain API and integration test frameworks.
• Validate service-to-service integrations and data flows.
• Ensure data integrity, contract validation, and error handling.
• Ensure quality gates are met in CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform manual exploratory testing when required.
• Identify, report, and track defects with clear root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams.
• Advocate for shift-left testing and quality best practices.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to QA capability building.
