Job summary

Partner Company in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Back-end Product Engineer (PHP, Symfony) to own backend features end-to-end within a mature B2B workflow platform. You will design scalable services, APIs, and data models, and work across teams to deliver reliable experiences, including AI-assisted development and continuous improvement.

Expect to collaborate with Backend, Frontend, mobile, and support teams; drive architectural decisions; and contribute to production readiness and deployment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PHP and Symfony.
• Experience with AWS services and Kubernetes.
• Strong API design and Domain-Driven Design basics.
• CI/CD, automated testing and observability experience.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration across teams.
• Experience integrating AI into development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own backend features end-to-end, from concept to production release.
• Design scalable, reliable backend services, APIs and data models.
• Decompose work, make architectural decisions, and present solutions.
• Refactor and expand test coverage to improve quality.
• Collaborate across Backend, Frontend, iOS/Android and Support teams.
• Incorporate AI tools into daily development and reviews.
• Improve release processes, observability and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and investigate incidents.
• Prepare release plans and coordinate deployments.
