Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on work with relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MariaDB/MSSQL).
• Proven experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and data modeling trade-offs.
• Ability to investigate slow queries, analyze execution plans, and optimize performance.
• Experience leading medium-to-large engineering initiatives with cross-team coordination.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, data storage, and production-scale systems.
• Excellent communication in a distributed, remote-first environment.
• Ability to translate product requirements into technical plans and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve backend services for enterprise-scale data.
• Work with relational DBs and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch for storage and querying.
• Own initiatives from discovery to delivery and production rollout.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Support, and SRE to meet requirements.
• Improve data processing, retention, storage, and exposure to customers.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and slow queries.
• Develop internal tooling for data layer observability and operability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident resolution.
