Job summary

Avular is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team in Eindhoven. You will develop and productise onboard software for modular robotics platforms, bridging hardware and higher-level software engineers through ROS.

You will contribute to the architecture and work closely with control and algorithm teams to enable advanced autonomy. Ideal candidates have a Master’s degree in a technical field and 4+ years in robotics software, with strong C++ (C++17+) and Python skills, ROS2 experience,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in robotics or autonomous systems.
• Strong C++ (C++17+) and Python experience.
• Professional ROS2 experience.
• Experience with Linux and ARM-based systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerised development.

Responsibilities

• Design and build onboard applications in C++, with Python where it fits.
• Co-develop the software architecture — interfaces, structure, and how components fit together.
• Define and write requirements for new functionality.
• Work close to the hardware, including firmware where the role calls for it.
• Build the automated tests and documentation that make a feature genuinely done.
• Collaborate directly with hardware, control and algorithm engineers.
