Senior AI Engineer - AI Agents & Enablement Tools

Job summary

Next Ventures is expanding its AI team in the Netherlands and seeks 2 AI Engineers in Amsterdam to work directly with use case teams. You will translate business needs into scalable AI agents, tools and templates, owning the enablement platform end-to-end.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with LLM-powered apps (RAG, tool-calling), Python, LangChain and Azure, plus strong consultancy skills to uncover underlying client problems and deliver clear, actionable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents or LLM-powered apps (RAG, tool-calling, MCP integrations).
• Proficiency in Python; experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• Familiarity with developer tooling: CI/CD, Docker, Git, templating tools.
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Strong consultancy and communication skills; able to extract the real problem behind a customer request.
• Experience with MLOps tooling and IaC on Azure.

Responsibilities

• Engage with use case teams to understand problems, blockers, and needs.
• Translate insights into platform improvements: services, templates, tooling, or docs.
• Own, build and maintain AI agents and tools to accelerate enablement.
• Identify recurring pain points and drive structural fixes, not one-off solutions.
• Sustain and maintain the software underpinning enablement services for scale.
