Job summary

Elsevier seeks an experienced Senior Product Manager to own the strategy and roadmap for editorial triage within its publishing workflows in Amsterdam. You will guide cross-functional teams in delivering AI-assisted editorial intelligence to support human editorial judgement.

The role requires strong product thinking, experience with AI/ML products, and the ability to translate insights into actionable product improvements.

Qualifications

• Significant product management experience with ownership of product strategy, delivery and roadmaps.
• Experience with AI and machine learning products, including generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or agent-based workflows.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data, running experiments, and making decisions in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Owning, defining and delivering the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for editorial triage solutions.
• Leading product delivery within a cross-functional agile team, managing priorities and backlog.
• Conducting customer discovery with editorial users and translating insights into product improvements.
• Designing and improving signal management and triage experiences to help users act on information.
• Fostering evidence-based decision-making through quantitative and qualitative research and experiments.
• Partnering with data science teams to evaluate signal quality and translate findings into product enhancements.
• Connecting product outcomes to business goals through KPIs, OKRs, ROI analysis and strategic decisions.
• Collaborating with engineering to evaluate architectural trade-offs and technical options.
• Building products that support transparency and auditability with human oversight.
• Working with stakeholders across Publishing, Technology, Operations, Editorial Strategy, and Research Integrity.
• Supporting go-to-market planning, product launches, customer adoption and change management.
