Job summary

Destinus is seeking a Senior Aerothermal Engineer to lead aerothermal design of aero-engines and components. You will design and analyze compressors, diffusers, turbines, intakes, and nozzles, using meanline tools and CFD to deliver efficient turbomachinery solutions.

Build and mature our design processes and participate in R&D tests from component to full engine scale. You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams to align design goals, develop optimization workflows, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of work experience in flow path design and analysis of jet engines or gas turbines.
• CFD simulations of turbomachinery components (preferably Star-CCM+).
• Experience with meanline design tools for compressors and turbines.
• Experience using optimization tools for compressor/turbine designs (Axstream, Turbodesign Optima).
• Experience with heat transfer calculations or conjugate heat transfer simulations is a plus.
• Product development experience including gate reviews.
• Excellent English communication skills (CEFR C1).
• Mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.
• Strong problem-solving and initiative-taking attitude.

Responsibilities

• Aero-design of aero-engine components using meanline tools and CFD simulations.
• Develop and implement automated optimization workflows including DOE and multi-objective optimization.
• Analyze test data and compare with numerical results.
• Develop turbomachinery design tools and methods.
• Collaborate with combustion, mechanical design, and stress teams to align goals.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
• Participate in and present design reviews.
• Document work in technical reports and specifications.
