Job summary

Nearfield Instruments is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Engineer to join our rapidly growing team working on state-of-the-art semiconductor metrology systems in an ISO 5 clean room and laboratories. You will ensure submodules are integrated correctly to deliver high-performing metrology machines for our clients.

We value hands-on builders who can read drawings, follow instructions, and collaborate across teams to meet timelines.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background in engineering fields such as mechanical/automotive.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry or related manufacturing.
• Strong command of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts using drawings and instructions, including switch panels, cables, and mechanical components.
• Perform partial tests on products and systems with team lead or colleagues.
• Verify components meet quality standards.
• Follow safety guidelines, identify risks, and report concerns.
• Work according to timelines and inform about potential delays.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure timely material maintenance.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the team and across areas.
