Job summary

Nearfield Instruments is seeking a (Senior) Software Engineer for Device Control to drive software across the design-to-production cycle. You will work within the Device Control team to develop software that directly controls advanced metrology hardware used in leading semiconductor manufacturing.

Candidates should have a Masters or Bachelors in CS/CE/Embedded Systems and at least 5 years of hands-on software experience, with C#, Python, and strong OOP.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development in design/architecture, testing, and integration.
• Experience with embedded software, motion control, and PLC software is a plus.
• Knowledge of Machine Vision / Computer Vision and signal processing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead a wide range of software development aspects from design to production.
• Collaborate with mechatronics and production teams.
• Design and implement software components to control complex hardware.
• Write and maintain high-quality, testable code.
• Support customer support and production engineers with software questions.
• Drive continuous improvement and new ideas for the product.
