Job summary

Nearfield Instruments seeks a customer-facing engineer to bridge product development, onsite application services, and sales, showcasing AFM systems on customer wafers and contributing to R&D to meet future needs.

You will identify metrology needs, perform measurements, analyze data, and present findings to customers, while creating measurement recipes and training the customer’s engineers and operators.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Physics, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering or related field.
• Experience developing or using metrology tools in manufacturing.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.
• Interest in atomic force microscopy and ability to learn quickly.
• Experience coding for data analysis and visualization (MATLAB, Python).

Responsibilities

• Identify customer metrology needs and collaborate with marketing and sales.
• Demonstrate capabilities of AFM products on customer wafers and analyze data.
• Report and present findings to customers, highlighting system potential.
• Create measurement recipes in customer fabs, train engineers and operators.
• Collaborate with Development, Engineering and R&D to develop new metrology modes and improve products.
