Job summary

The Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC) invites applications for an Intern, Security and Human Rights in The Hague. This 24–32 hours per week internship runs for 4–6 months and may include a project component agreed with supervision.

You will assist HRD, IA and SHRM activities, contribute to academic publishing and communications, and help organise events. The internship includes a €400/month stipend for a 32 hours/week schedule; start date is September 15 with an application deadline of 20

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant bachelor or master program.
• Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus.
• Interest in civil society and human rights trends.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and switch between tasks.
• Self-sufficiency, initiative and hands-on mentality.
• Strong communication and intercultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing the academic journal for the SHRM program: assess articles and coordinate with authors/reviewers.
• Coordinate with journal indexing bodies and manage publication workflow.
• Support communications: update website, newsletters, and social media; assist in organizing online events.
• Aid in event coordination and support for HRD and IA programmes.
• Help develop external networks and partner relations.
