Job summary

The Protect.ngo in The Hague is seeking a motivated Intern/Young Professional to join our Operations Team. This internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of cybersecurity and humanitarian action, supporting day-to-day operations and gaining exposure to cross-border initiatives.

We welcome students or recent graduates with foundational cybersecurity knowledge, Dutch market familiarity, and strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled student or recent graduate (HBO, Bachelor’s or Master’s level) in a relevant field
  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and principles
  • Basic understanding of how the Dutch market works
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken, level C1)

Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Team with growing impact in the Netherlands and Europe by supporting in existing programs and seeking new opportunities
  • Contribute to project administration and documentation
  • Help organize meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements
  • Provide general office support and assist with ad-hoc operational needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different teams and time zones

Your Mission

We are seeking a motivatedIntern/Young Professionalto join our Operations Team in The Hague. This is an excellent opportunity for a student/recent graduate eager to launch their career at the intersection of cybersecurity and humanitarian work. You will support the day-to-day operations of our office while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Your Responsibilities
Your Objectives & Contributions

Your main tasks will include the following:

  • Support the Operations Team with growing our impact in the Netherlands and in Europe by supporting in existing programs and assisting in finding new opportunities

Your Experience, Skills & Attribute
  • An enrolled student/recent graduate (HBO, Bachelor's or Master's level) in a relevant field

  • Possess foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and principles

  • Has a basic understanding of how the Dutch market works

  • Must be fluent in both Dutch and English, written and spoken (level C1)

  • An outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Curious, eager to learn, and ready to take initiative

Additional Information
  • Requirement: tripartite internship convention/agreement preferred but applicants who finalized their educational program will also be considered

  • Start date: as soon as possible

  • Duration: 6-12 months (flexible, renewable upon review)

  • Working rate: ideally full-time (32 hours per week)

  • Location: The Hague, Netherlands
