Job summary

Joosten Inc. seeks a hands-on worker to clean and preserve seagoing vessels using our professional equipment. Most work will be at shipyard Niestern Sander in Delfzijl, with some work in nearby ports such as Eemshaven.

Ideal candidates are not afraid of heights or confined spaces, willing to learn, and able to arrange their own transport and housing. A VCA certificate is required or you’re prepared to obtain one; occasional outside-hours work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Willing to learn how to operate ship-cleaning equipment.
• Physically able to handle a dirty, outdoor, and sometimes high-location work.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends or outside office hours.

Responsibilities

• Clean hulls, tanks and holds of sea vessels.
• Use high-pressure cleaners and grit blasters for cleaning tasks.
• Preserve ships using airless paint sprayers or rollers; work mainly at shipyard Niestern Sander in Delfzijl (and occasionally other locations).
