Job summary

Niestern Sander, part of Royal Wagenborg, is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our shipyard teams in Farmsum and Delfzijl. You will contribute to repair and maintenance projects on a variety of ships, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule and to a high standard.

You will work on engines, piping, and structural components, use a practical mindset, and collaborate with foremen and colleagues to find smart solutions.

Qualifications

• Vocational MBO diploma in a technical field (preferably mechanical engineering or shipbuilding).
• Experience as a mechanic, preferably in the maritime sector.
• Practical mindset with good quality awareness.
• Strong teamwork attitude and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of various ships at the shipyard.
• Ensure work is carried out professionally, safely, and on schedule.
• Perform repairs and assembly on engines, piping systems, and structural components.
• Complete work neatly and on time.
• Actively think of solutions when unexpected situations arise and discuss them with the foreman and colleagues.
• Inspect own work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
