Job summary

Joosten Inc. is seeking a hands-on worker to clean hulls, tanks and holds of seagoing vessels at shipyards in Delfzijl/Niestern Sander, with optional work at other sites.

You will operate a high-pressure cleaner, grit blaster and paint sprayers or rollers, and you should be comfortable heights and outdoor hours.

We offer potential permanent contract and require a VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one; transport and housing arrangements are your responsibility.

Job description

Do you want to work on various ships every time? Are you not afraid to get your hands dirty and comfortable with heights? At Joosten Inc., there’s never a dull moment! We are looking for a hands-on worker who’s ready to clean and preserve seagoing vessels using our professional equipment.

What will you do?

You will clean the hull, tanks, and holds of (sea) vessels. For this, you will use:

High-pressure cleaner (500 bar)

Grit blaster with remote control

Additionally, you will preserve ships using airless paint sprayers or roller applications. Most of your work will take place at shipyard Niestern Sander, either on the slipway or in one of the docks at the port of Delfzijl. Occasionally, you may also work in other locations, such as the Eemshaven.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, eager-to-learn individual. Don’t know how to use the equipment yet? No problem - we’ll gladly teach you!

You’re not afraid of heights or small spaces.

You don’t mind occasionally working outside office hours or on weekends.

You’re okay with getting your hands dirty.

You have a VCA certificate (or are willing to obtain one).

You’re responsible for arranging your own transport to work and housing.
