Job description

Will you be our Sales & Account Management Intern at BikeFair?

BikeFair is a one-stop-shop bike marketplace: a full-service bike platform for individuals, and a plug-and-play e-commerce solution for businesses. Seamlessly find and purchase a bike including custom-offered equipment, servicing, insurance, or repair. All through a single access point, online, using an existing local network of suppliers.

About us

We want bikes to become the global n.1 mode of transport on short distances. We aim to make buying, selling, even owning a bike easier than hailing a taxi, hopping on a bus or refueling own car.

We're still in the beginning of this mission, an early-stage start-up with global ambitions. We are funded by amazing investors, generating revenues and beating the first significant milestones (almost 10,000 bikes sold, 200 partners across the whole country), currently aiming to conquer the Dutch market and begin international expansion.

What are we looking for in a Sales & AM Intern?

BikeFair provides you with a dynamic, ambitious environment. We love people that are self-starters and are not afraid to do and learn on the go! If you're looking for sitting behind a laptop or making coffee, BikeFair is not the right place for you. If you like to be on the road, talk to (potential) clients, visiting shops and onboarding clients, we are your match!

Generally, we are looking for:

  • Somebody that loves to be on the go. You will visit bike shops (new and existing) and onboard them,
  • Eagerness to "get your hands dirty" - figuratively and often literally,
  • You should ideally be able to speak Dutch and have a working proficiency in English.

For this specific role, you should also be an outgoing person, a good communicator able to turn any challenge into an opportunity. We'll teach you the rest.

Responsibilities

During the internship, we will show you the full (supply-side) B2B sales process of an up-and-coming bike marketplace:

  • Market research, identifying and categorizing prospective partners by their potential added value,
  • Strategic analysis of partnership quality,
  • Assisting with digitalization of partners' stock: photographing, inputting data,
  • Preparing sales materials and planning detailed daily sales itineraries,
  • Gradual shift towards account management of current partners: sales and complaint management, stock updates, upselling additional services,
  • Onboarding new partners, explaining ins and outs of the cooperation,
  • Field sales trips, pitching to prospective partners and closing partnerships,
  • Providing feedback to the product development team to further adjust the marketplace.

You will get a chance to experience all of the steps throughout the partner lifecycle yourself with a focus on the simpler tasks, and depending on your learning trajectory, you can work yourself into a full-time role.

Why should you consider
  • Dynamic, ambitious team with a purpose-driven mindset: you'll directly and measurably contribute to the world's sustainable future,
  • Ownership of your work,
  • Unusual professional freedom and space to implement your own ideas and initiatives.
  • Travel allowance,
  • Fun team activities - beers, team rides & dinners, more ideas on this front welcome!
  • Cool office 5 minutes' walk from Amsterdam Centraal.
Culture: who are we looking for
  • The 'Tony Stark mindset' - what can YOU do with only a paperclip at hand?
  • Inner drive of Nikola Tesla - work on something that has a meaning!
  • Ethics of Captain America - lead by example & always deliver what you promise,
  • Unhealthy affection for bikes - owning three or more bikes is a must.
  • Slightly twisted sense of humour - t he line above is a joke, of course. Well, partly... :)
Conditions & Details

The internship is preferably 4-5 days per week for 6 months, but schedules are open for discussion.

Corresponding basic internship allowance provided.
