Job summary

Brasserie Ambassade in Amsterdam is seeking a Runner/Barback to support both the bar and floor, ensuring food and drinks reach guests quickly. You’ll restock supplies, keep workstations clean, and help the team deliver smooth service in a lively setting.

You’ll move between bar, kitchen, and floor, handle setup for events, and stay on your feet during varied shifts. Hospitality is valued; enthusiasm and a hands-on attitude matter most.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bar, restaurant, terrace or event space at the start of shift.
• Restock drinks, ice, and glassware; ensure workstations are clean.
• During service, deliver food and drinks, clear plates and glassware, and support the floor team.
• Keep glasses, bottles, beer, mixers and essentials stocked behind the bar; wash and organize glassware.
• During events, assist with setup, service and clearing up; think ahead and support colleagues.

Job description

As a Runner/Barback at Rafel , you support both the floor and the bar. You make sure food and drinks reach the right place quickly, keep the bar fully stocked, and help the team deliver a smooth service.

You work in the restaurant, at the bar, on the terrace, and during events. You are always on the move, notice what needs to be done, and step in straight away. Experience is a plus, but enthusiasm and a hands-on attitude are more important to us.

Daily tasks

You start your shift by preparing the bar, restaurant, terrace, or event space. You restock drinks, ice, and glassware and make sure every workstation is clean and ready for service.

During service, you bring food and drinks to guests, clear used plates and glassware, and support the floor team wherever needed. You move efficiently between the kitchen, bar, and floor and check that orders are complete.

Behind the bar, you keep glasses, bottles, beer, mixers, and other essentials fully stocked. You wash and organise glassware, clear empty bottles and waste, and keep the bar clean and organised.

During events, you help with setup, service, and clearing up afterwards. You take a practical approach, think ahead, and support your colleagues wherever needed.
