Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Customs Process Administrator to coordinate and manage the full range of customs services, from order acceptance through clearance. You will receive training in customs legislation and foreign trade and provide daily support within a collaborative team.

Key tasks include handling import/export declarations, ensuring timely filings, reporting to management, and maintaining strong customer relationships while meeting statutory requirements in a diverse, international setting.

Qualifications

• Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant customs experience/certification.
• Local customs authorities’ knowledge is an asset.
• Experience handling fruit, vegetable, and veterinary goods from a customs perspective.
• Experience with relevant Customs software is a plus.
• Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
• Customer-facing and interaction skills with high-level customer orientation.
• Team engagement and support.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Fluent English; Dutch or any European language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Understand and be able to perform customs clearances including certificates, solve and offer solutions to incidents.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all Import & Export declarations and Transit Movements.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all financial activities relevant to Customs House Brokerage.
• Collate and present data reports to Management, Customer, Internal Stakeholders, Compliance and Implementation Teams.
• Ensuring that all local customs authorities’/statutory requirements are met or exceeded.
• Maintain a first-class business relationship with all customers and internal stakeholders for the team.
• To be an active team member who will exchange knowledge and expertise.
• Proactively lead or actively participate in Customs related projects.
• To ensure training is completed to allow you to cover all accounts in the team.
• To engender team spirit and staff engagement.
