Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Trainee Inside Sales Engineer to develop skills in technical sales, quotation preparation, and customer support. You will work with experienced professionals and gain exposure to Emerson solutions, products, and services while building relationships with customers.

You will rotate six months between Rijswijk and Breda, learning to handle technical and commercial customer requests, assist the field sales team, process orders accurately, and follow our ethics and trade

Qualifications

• Technical diploma at HBO bachelor’s or master’s level (or strong technical affinity with education in another field).
• Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in learning about sales, engineering, and customer interactions.
• Ability to work in a structured and organized way.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to create quotations using Emerson solutions, products, and services, including third-party offerings.
• Gain experience in handling technical and commercial aspects of customer requests.
• Work closely with the field sales team to follow up on quotes and support customer needs.
• Process customer purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Provide product and application information to internal and external customers.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with international back offices to ensure smooth order processing.
• Keep sales administration tools up to date.
• Follow Emerson’s policies, including ethics and trade compliance.
• Work 6 months in Rijswijk and 6 months in Breda.
