Job summary

IJver Amsterdam is seeking a Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth operations on the floor, lead the front-of-house team, and set the example as a coach and connector for staff and guests.

You will manage reservations, maintain guest satisfaction, and mentor colleagues with a focus on craft beers, coffee and wines. The role requires Dutch language, 3+ years in hospitality including 1 year in management, and residency in/near Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and experience in managing front-of-house staff.
• Stress-resistant, structured, and able to switch gears under pressure.
• Knowledge of craft beers, coffee and wines.
• Experience with group reservations.
• Outgoing, guest-focused and empathetic.
• Dutch language required; reside in Amsterdam area.
• Minimum 3 years in hospitality, with 1 year in management.

The function:

As a Restaurant Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the operation. You work on the floor, are the point of contact for the serving staff, help new colleagues settle in and know how to motivate and coach current colleagues. When unexpected pressure arises, you know exactly how to handle it: you keep your cool and it actually energizes you. As a Restaurant Manager, you are a role model and know like no other that the guest comes first. In short: you are a connector and a people manager.

What we expect from you:

• You are strong in communication and have experience in managing and motivating front-of-house staff
• You are stress-resistant, work structuredly and know how to switch gears when things get hectic
• You have the necessary knowledge of craft beers, coffee and wines
• You have experience with (group) reservations
• You are outgoing, guest-oriented and empathetic
• You hold a certificate of social hygiene (not required)
• You speak the Dutch language
• You live in or around Amsterdam
• You have at least 3 years of work experience in the hospitality industry, of which 1 year is in management
