Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Professional Services Engineer to partner with public sector customers, delivering installation, migration, training, and advisory engagements across diverse environments.

You will work remotely and asynchronously, guiding deployments from single-node Omnibus setups to large reference architectures while coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure on-time, on-scope delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools and configuration as code.
• Ability to lead technical delivery end-to-end and coordinate multiple engagements.
• Excellent communication with project managers, customers, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Professional Services engagements such as installation, migration, training, and advisory services to help customers achieve successful outcomes with GitLab, including completing projects on scope and on schedule.
• Plan and execute GitLab deployments across architectures, from single-node Omnibus to large reference architectures using IaC and configuration as code practices.
• Oversee migrations from multiple source systems to GitLab SaaS or self-hosted GitLab, reducing risk and ensuring smooth cutovers.
• Provide technical guidance across the GitLab feature stack to help customers adopt best practices that fit their goals and environment.
• Mentor other engineers and collaborate with product teams to remove blockers and improve delivery patterns.
