Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Product Owner for Recommendation Systems based in the Netherlands. You will own the post-purchase experience, focusing on activation, matching, relevance, and personalized recommendations to help paying customers quickly realize value.

You will work across discovery, recommendation engines, segmentation, personalization, and experimentation, partnering with engineering, design, and data teams to turn hypotheses into improvements in a fast-moving, remote-first setup.

Qualifications

• Hands-on B2C product experience in activation, onboarding, or first-session experiences.
• Experience with discovery-driven products with large offers, listings, or matches.
• Understanding of search, feed relevance, matching, or personalization.
• Experience with segmentation and enriching offers/listings with data.
• Experience in marketplaces, aggregators, or e-commerce with large catalogs.
• Able to define hypotheses, requirements, and measurable success criteria.
• Experience designing A/B tests and product experiments.
• Strong ability to combine qualitative and quantitative research to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the post-purchase customer journey with focus on activation, matching, relevance, and value delivery.
• Optimize offer volume and recommendation quality for relevant selections.
• Improve relevance and trust in recommendations and invitations to paying customers.
• Increase likelihood of quality matches in the first week for new customers.
• Design and improve engagement mechanics like gamification, nudges, reminders, and reactivation features.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, analysts, and data/ML teams to implement improvements.
• Run A/B tests, analyze results, and iterate based on evidence.
• Take end-to-end ownership of product outcomes with measurable impact.
