Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer - OpenStack to join a globally distributed team focused on cloud infrastructure in the Netherlands. You will develop and maintain software for OpenStack and Ceph, primarily using Python, and contribute to automation across diverse hardware environments.

The role emphasizes open‑source collaboration, cross‑country teamwork, and opportunities to travel internationally a few times per year. A strong foundation in distributed systems and Linux is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS, STEM, or related field.
• Professional software engineering experience with strong Python.
• Experience with OpenStack, OVN, Open vSwitch, or related cloud tech.
• Experience with non-x86 architectures (ARM64, s390, Power) valuable.
• Passion for open-source software, Linux and distributed systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration across a distributed team.
• Willingness to travel internationally 2–4 times/year.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for OpenStack and Ceph deployment and management.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team to design solutions.
• Debug complex issues, diagnose root causes, implement fixes.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure OpenStack and Ceph run across architectures.
• Contribute to infra automation and infrastructure-as-code using Python.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decisions.
• Travel internationally 2–4 times per year for events.
