The role requires native Gujarati proficiency, experience in annotation/translation, and precise taxonomy application across pages. Collaboration with a Gujarati expert will ensure review of completed work.

Qualifications

• Native Gujarati speaker with full command of the script.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, translation, or regional-language data review.
• High character-level accuracy and systematic taxonomy application.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Responsibilities

• Source documents by finding Gujarati PDFs with multimodal elements.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning component types and reading-order indices.
• Record relationships by linking regions to parent components such as figures or tables.
• Transcribe text faithfully in Gujarati script, including handwriting; flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata including language, document type, source, and flags for tables/handwriting.
• Review colleague work to ensure end-to-end quality.
