Job summary

Mercor is seeking a detail-oriented Telugu annotator to build structured, richly labeled data from Telugu documents. You will identify titled regions, headings, paragraphs, tables, figures and captions, assigning reading-order indices and ensuring exact transcription in Telugu script.

Responsibilities include verifying content, annotating relationships, and recording page metadata for quality-controlled datasets used to train document AI models.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of the script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, or document review.
• Excellent accuracy, especially with punctuation and diacritics.

Responsibilities

• Open and check a task to ensure Telugu content and legibility.
• Annotate page structure: identify regions and assign types and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and their parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe text faithfully in Telugu script, flagging unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, dimensions, and handwriting flags.
• Review colleague work through second-expert verification.
